All Ages Attend Cooking School Grand Opening Weekend
New, Convenient Route 9, Southborough Location Welcomes Many
(Southborough, MA) – Culinary Underground School for Home Cooks was the site of a multiday Grand Opening Celebration. The new location — at 21 Turnpike Road/Route 9, in Southborough MA – opened its doors to the public on Saturday and Sunday, October 16 & 17th. The celebration included free hands-on activities for families, cooking demonstrations and tastings, meet and greets with the teaching staff, tour of the retail area, and more.
“Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate this important milestone for the School,” says Chef Lori Leinbach, Founder and Director of Culinary Underground School for Home Cooks. “For six years, we’ve been teaching adults and kids how to revive the lost art and craft of home cooking. Thanks to this prominent new location on Route 9, things are really heating up in our kitchen!”
At the new location, Culinary Underground School for Home Cooks will expand the offerings, bring in guest chefs, host team building events, and hold custom classes of all kinds. What’s more, now there is space for a small retail area stocked with the kinds of kitchen gear used in the school, including an extensive line of “green” kitchen tools.

About Culinary Underground School for Home Cooks (CU)
Culinary Underground School for Home Cooks is committed to furthering the art and craft of home cooking through engaging and educational hands-on and demonstrations classes. Using the best seasonal ingredients, mastering techniques, minimizing prep, and maximizing flavor are the focus of our classes. We believe that good eating and breaking bread with others are two of life’s greatest pleasures, and are at the heart of everyday cooking for family and friends. We share with our students a growing concern of what is in our food and where it comes from. To that end, we support small, local, organic farms and dairies, seek out area restaurants whose chefs cook locally, and invite those chefs, farmers, and purveyors into the classroom to share their knowledge and ideas with our students. Located at 21 Turnpike Road/Route 9, Suite E, Southborough MA 01772, the school was founded in 2004 by Chef/Director Lori Leinbach, an experienced educator and personal chef. The staff of four culinary experts teaches children and adults in small classes of 8-12 persons, Monday through Friday, daytime and evenings; special classes and events are also held on weekends. CU students of all levels and interests come from as far as CT, NH, and RI, as well as from Central and MetroWest Massachusetts.
