Volunteer Opportunities
Culinary Underground is bursting with opportunities to volunteer! And why not? It’s a fun place to work, to learn new culinary skills, and to enjoy all those good smells and delicious tastes. Volunteer opportunities include:
Cooking Volunteer
Who? Any person who is willing to spend some time at the CU kitchen, helping with various cooking tasks, such as:
- Cupcakes for birthday parties
- Stocks for soup class
- swap-out recipes for demonstration classes
- Class starters (fromage fort, humus, guacamole, etc.)
- Roasting and spicing nuts
- Planned dishes for off-site or special events (prepped the day before)
- Brushetta (toasts to be frozen)

In return for every 6 hours of service, receive credit for admission to a class (of CU staff choosing).

CU- Class Assistants
Who? Anyone interested in assisting a CU instructor before, during and after class. Must be willing to go through an Assistant Training Program.
Tasks:
- Help set-up
- Fold towels/aprons
- Make drinks and snacks
- Collate recipes for students
- Start cleaning dishes
- Work with students
- Put away ingredients
In return for every 2 classes in assistance, receive credit for admission to a class of your choosing (subject to CU approval).
